Special Spring Mechanisms and Applications

In addition to common springs like compression and extension springs, there's a special type called the constant torque spring.

Its key feature is that A constant torque spring is typically mounted on a storage spool. Its outer end is connected in the opposite direction to an output spool. When the output spool is rotated, the spring winds in reverse, generating a constant torque on the output spool. Once the external force is removed, the spring unwinds from the output spool back to the storage spool, returning to its natural state.

Due to this characteristic, it is particularly suitable for applications requiring steady and consistent force output.

Practical Applications:

      1.       Automatic cable retraction

      2.      Counterbalancing weights

      3.      Power sources

Advantages of This Type of Spring:

1.      Counterbalance gravity

2.      Provides stable and consistent torque output
